Coca-Cola Ukulele

— The team at Wieden+Kennedy wanted to gift Warren Buffett (Coca-Cola’s largest shareowner and ukulele player) a custom ukulele to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the iconic Coca-Cola bottle. Our amazing production team found a Portland-based luthier who agreed to collaborate with us under a very tight timeline. While the ukulele had to be superbly crafted and functional, of course, we were able to customize certain parts of the instrument inspired by elements of the brand, including the headstock, soundhole, and lacquer finish of the instrument. I was able to work directly with the luthier as he built it. Buffett played the ukulele at Coca-Cola’s annual shareholders meeting, performing the company’s classic 1971 jingle, “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke.”
