The Junto
Situated across from Downtown Columbus, The Junto serves as a modern gathering place rooted in the storied history of Franklinton. Established in 1797 as the first settlement of Franklin County, the neighborhood is currently undergoing a vibrant transformation, with artists and new residents revitalizing long-forgotten factories and spaces.
The hotel’s name, brand identity, and interior concept were designed to anchor this burgeoning district by authentically reflecting its creative, industrial, and small-town spirit. Inspiration was drawn from Benjamin Franklin’s 1727 “Junto Club,” a group of diverse individuals who gathered for mutual improvement and inquiry. Mirroring this spirit, The Junto emphasizes public gathering spaces—including a lobby library, a café, and a rooftop bar—where locals and visitors can exchange ideas and inspire one another.
Throughout the hotel, the branding pays tribute to the area’s industrial heritage with a bold, minimal aesthetic. The strong wordmark and dynamic typography capture the unconventional, visionary spirit that defines the unique character of Franklinton today.
