Saying that “I like cats” is an understatement of the highest proportions. To be more precise, I loooooooove cats. I absolutely adore everything about them. Felines have been a part of my daily life since I was a kid. As an only child, cats were always my BFFs. They’ve seen me through both good and bad times and they know all of my secrets. Taking a walk with me can be slow going if there are cats on the route. I am the person who literally rolls down the car window when I’m driving on the side streets in my neighborhood to say hello to any kitty nearby. Ever heard of Catster? It was a Friendster-like online social community for cats. No people, only cats. Yep, I had my cats Rascal and Lucy on it back in the day. Your cat could connect with other like-minded cats and go on the prowl for friends on the site.

Speaking of searching... Search “cats” on my phone and you’ll find 23,894 snapshots of frisky felines. Dig through photo albums and drawers in my house and you’ll find even more printed photographs. Also at home, you’ll find Frankie (aka Frankie Bones, Blacklip, Bubsie, Longboi) and Robbie (aka Broccoli Rob, Brocc, Tender Rob, Mista Ricketts)—two in-the-flesh (and fur) littermates and chaos-agents that I spend a lot of time wrangling.

Worth every minute.

Say hello to the boys, Frank and Rob—the true lights of my life.
